2 Days Tanzania Safari (Tarangire & Lake Manyara)

Experience a short yet rewarding safari from Arusha to two of Tanzania’s most scenic parks. Discover Tarangire National Park, famous for vast elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and rich wildlife along the Tarangire River. Continue to Lake Manyara National Park, home to lush groundwater forests, flamingos, hippos, and the iconic tree-climbing lions. Enjoy guided game drives, picnic lunches in nature, and comfortable overnight accommodation before returning to Arusha.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, a wildlife-rich reserve known for its impressive elephant populations and enormous baobab trees. The drive takes about two hours through scenic landscapes before reaching the park gates. Begin your full-day game drive, exploring river valleys, open plains, and woodlands that attract zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, antelopes, and many bird species. During the dry season, wildlife gathers in large numbers along the Tarangire River, creating excellent viewing opportunities. A picnic lunch is enjoyed at a designated site. Continue exploring in the afternoon before driving to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara, Return to Arusha

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a diverse ecosystem renowned for its groundwater forest, soda lake, and colorful birdlife. Begin your exploration in the lush forest where baboons, blue monkeys, and elephants thrive. Continue toward open plains and wetlands, watching for giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, and the area’s famous tree-climbing lions. Flamingos and many other birds decorate the lakeshore, creating vibrant scenery. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the water before continuing your game drive. In the afternoon, exit the park and begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving by early evening for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
